"Frieze Art Fair Yearbook 2008-9"  by Rosalind Furness (Editor)

Being titled a "yearbook" indicates that the publisher sees its content as having lasting value, relevant subject matter that won’t expire after the fair is long over. Well that is definitely true, and by looking at the number of artists introduced, it’s almost possible to use this yearbook in a manner similar to a "tear-off" calendar, learning about a new artist each day, nearly throughout the entire year (note: ripping the pages from this neat book is not encouraged - that would be pure vandalism).

This book introduces 300 emerging and established artists with critical text and colour images of their work. Participants from the art fair’s program of commissions are introduced in more detail via interviews. The yearbook also provides details of the various galleries participating in Frieze Art Fair, accompanied by an index listing over 2000 artists.

"The Frieze Yearbook 2008 - 2009" comes in a handy A5 format and is useful for those who are interested in contemporary art.
